Completed Redevelopment Projects
Baldwin Park Promenade
The Baldwin Park Promenade, completed in 2007, generates sales tax revenue, and created an additional 150 new jobs. The 4.7-acre retail center consists of approximately 50,000 square feet of retail, including IHOP, Smart&Final, CVS Pharmacy, Subway, Wok N Go, FedEx Office, Wing Stop and Starbucks Coffee.
Baldwin Park Marketplace
One of the most exciting and important projects developed is the Baldwin Park Marketplace, developed by Lewis Investments. Located on a 24-acre site with I-10 Freeway exposure at the northwest corner of Puente and Merced Avenues, this new retail center is anchored by Wal-Mart (opened May 19,2004). In addition, the site includes tenants such as Eatza Pizza, Farmer Boys, Subway, Panda Express, Long John Silver's, Payless Shoe Source and Game Stop. The total area of the site is 260,000 square feet. The project value upon completion has been estimated at $17.8 million. This project has created over 300 new jobs for area residents and approximately $500,000 in new, annual sales tax revenue to the City.
Villa Ramona is a 71-unit affordable housing development by Thomas Safran & Associates. Completed during May 2004, the complex is a mix of senior and family units affordable to low and very low-income households. The project is located between Francisquito Avenue and Corak Street , on the south side of Ramona Boulevard.
Baldwin Park Towne Center
The Baldwin Park Towne Center Shopping Center, located in the Puente-Merced Redevelopment Project Area, is anchored by the 130,000 square foot Home Depot and the remodeled Radisson Hotel. It also includes Starbucks, Sizzler's, Guadalajara Grill, McDonald's, and Denny's.
The 18-acre Sierra Center was completed in June of 1997 by Bixby Sierra Center LLC. The center, anchored by Target, consists of 220,000 square feet of retail such as Office Max, Food 4 Less, Hollywood Video and Payless Shoes. It also includes Jack in the Box, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and McDonald's.
The Sierra Center is located at the intersection of Francisquito Avenue and Baldwin Park Boulevard , near the I-10 Freeway.
